The United Black Fund

The United Black Fund, Inc. (UBF), established in 1969 by Dr. Calvin and Wilhelmina Rolark, aims to empower and support communities, particularly those that are Black and impoverished, in the Washington DC area. With a focus on family-oriented initiatives, UBF seeks to provide essential tools for parenting, promote educational and recreational activities for youth, and engage in community-based problem-solving. The organization is dedicated to creating long-term positive outcomes for families and communities through a variety of programs. These include the End the Violence Campaign, the I Love Life Campaign, the “Cora Rice” Christmas Party, and the Black History Invitational Swimmeet, among others, all designed to enrich youth’s talents, promote learning, and foster a safe and supportive community environment.
